Mercury's Direct In Virgo

After spending the last three weeks retrograde – some people swear it feels more like three months – Mercury has changed directions to move forward, once again, in Virgo. We can look forward to fresh insights, now, about some of the subjects that have surfaced since the first part of September. Mercury is all about communication, networks, systems, analysis, organization and the tools and vehicles that make these things possible. In Virgo, we may now come to new realizations about diet, health, hygiene and better ways to take care of the little details that make a big difference that so easily fall through the cracks.

Mercury in Virgo offers opportunities to see through the big picture, which can obscure the heart of the matter or source of the issue, to the essence of what we need to know to make informed decisions. The current talk about vaccines and government mandates to require people to be vaccinated makes me wonder what it is they aren’t telling us. The stage is set for much more information to come to light on this and many similar subjects.

The potentials are ripe for breaking through to fresh approaches to health and human services, both personally and globally. We, the people, ultimately, choose the direction we go from here.

Virgo is the sign of grounded, practical action that promotes order and well-being. Virgo rules the assimilation system in the body–that which we have taken in or taken on, whether it be a meal or a piece of information, requires time to be digested before we can receive its nourishment or understand what it means for us. Only when assimilation and integration occur do we experience the integrity that allows us to understand what is appropriate rather than taking action based on fear or the well-meaning opinions of others.

As Mercury moves back through Virgo and into the early degrees of Libra I encourage you to give yourself the gift of some unscheduled time–it’s so good for you! This is also an excellent time for considering what you can do to become a healthier you. Enjoy!

Virgo Full Moon of the Goddess ~March 10, 2009

october-morning-2007-014

Full moons are the time of the flowering of the seeds that have been planted so we can see their fruits in vibrant color. Virgo is the practical, grounded sign of the Goddess, the earth’s bounty, integration, tending to things–including the body–and simplicity.

The Virgo Full Moon Moon joins Saturn opposite the Sun and Uranus, the Awakener, in Pisces.Virgo’s ruler, Mercury has just entered Pisces, too, so intuition is more reliable than facts and figures, at the moment. How does it feel to you? What do you sense about what you are looking at? Does this direction feel more inviting than that one? Trust your gut and go with the flow.

With the bulk of the planets in the air and water signs of Aquarius and Pisces, respectively, this grounded Virgo energy offers substance to the mix that can help make our dreams and visions a reality. Virgo’s symbol is the Virgin–in essence, the Divine Feminine principle of creation, appreciation and love.

Virgo is the sign of integration, of sorting through the bits and pieces of our lives and releasing those that don’t fit, don’t work or no longer serve any useful purpose. Saturn in Virgo has been beating the drum of the necessity of letting go of that which is not right for us. As we let go we bring our lives current, into the present, where we can be effective in our actions and interactions, once again. Too much stuff, too many possibilities, too many responsibilities that we can’t possibly fulfill, attempting to go in too many directions at the same time all drain our precious natural resources of time and energy and the attention that gives our life direction.

The Full Moon joining Saturn in Virgo prompts us to get grounded in our own lives. In any moment we can choose to turn off the fear-mongering news, step away from watching the erratic stock market for a while and realize that we didn’t get where we are, overnight and it is going to take time before we see the effects of what is happening now. In the mean time, this is a wonderful opportunity to come back into your own center. Focus on the things you can do something about: tend to your body, organize and fabulize your home–even little improvements make a big difference, clear the clutter from your messy office, plant flowers or buy a colorful plant for your home.

What have you neglected that you know makes you feel better? What is one practical thing can you do right now that will change things for the better? Who or what have you taken for granted that will benefit from your thoughtful consideration and appreciation? Focusing on and tending to the things we love and appreciate creates an energetic expansion that bears fruit in a multitude of wonderful ways.
