The Tango of Intangibles

woman-872122_1920

I trade in the tango of intangibles

Energy, vibration, intention and Love

Those things that no one can put a price on

The stuff that doesn’t count

For those who keep score

Mine is the invisible realm

That connects people

And offers them hope

Of healing, of joy

And another way of living

Mine is the slippery slope

Of inconvenient feelings

The unfortunate ones no one really wants

The ones that take us deep into who we are

When we are raw

Stripped of the niceties

Of a society uncomfortable

With our expressions sadness, grief

Pain or sorrow

Even our giddiness and glee

I trade in matters of the soul, you see

The part of us that speaks

In the dead of night

That whispers the dreaded truth

That the stuff we bought into

All those bright ideas

That allowed us to fit in

And find our place

Are never going to take us where we want to go

They lead us away from who we are

And the whole point of being here

Mine is the realm of the psyche

The spirit, the unconscious becoming known

The passage we are challenged to navigate

From survival

To finally hearing the call

Of the immeasurable Love we are

The Love that reminds us of what matters

The Love that, in the end

Is the only thing that counts

Healing at the Virgo Full Moon – Stretch, Extend, Mend the Mind

woman-984095_1920

Today, at the Full Moon with the Sun in Pisces and the Moon in Virgo, we are ripe for considering just what it is we believe (Pisces) and which of those beliefs are serving our conscious intentions and higher purpose for our lives and which are due for uprooting (Virgo) so we can heal (Virgo) both body and mind.

It seems so easy to stay in our comfort zones. After all, we know how it all works there. Although we might not like some of what goes on, it is familiar. What happens is predictable, even if it hurts our feelings or keeps us feeling small. To challenge what to us seems normal can feel impossible. It’s just the way it is. Isn’t it?

Well, it’s the way it is until we decide this is no longer okay with us. As children, we receive a lifetime’s worth of messages about who we are or are not, the ways in which we have been judged and found lacking, or what we believed to be true about ourselves because someone in authority said so when we were small and we’ve never forgotten how terrible it made us feel. These are the seeds of unworthiness, oftentimes unwittingly planted by the adults around us who themselves had never emotionally matured. Once those seeds take root, they sprout up everywhere, reinforcing the message that somehow we are not okay and must fight to overcome our seemingly inherent unworthiness. This is one vicious circle. The more we resist our perceived ‘failings’, the more harsh and critical the messages become. The messages have become part of our belief system. Even though we may not like them, we believe them to be true on deep, subconscious levels of ourselves. And since our beliefs form the structure that creates our reality, as long as we do not challenge them, we will continue to experience the same doubts, fears and insecurities that we always have.

If we are ready to remove ourselves from the merry-go-round of insanity, (which, by definition, is doing the same thing repeatedly, each time expecting a different outcome), we’re going to have to stretch beyond the tried and true. In this case, something being true does not make it correct or optimal. Something can be true for us because we have made it so by our acquiescence to our experience of it. Once we stop to investigate just what it is we are buying into, we begin to see the beliefs that have kept that pattern alive. And we see that on some level of our being, the belief is true for us.

As one of my favorite teachers, Bentinho Massaro says, “You can’t win from a belief.” We can fight but we will never win as long as that belief is still accepted. So, instead of fighting, we sit with the belief. We consciously acknowledge the truth of it, on the level that it has operated. And then we start to see through it to a greater truth of who we are. Not only are we not unworthy, we are infinitely worthy, here, in this life to wake up to the Truth of who we are as heart-centered beings of Love and Light, here to make a holy difference, each in our own way. .

As we extend ourselves beyond the limitations of the programming that once shaped us, our psyches begin to mend, new connections are made within us and fresh possibilities appear before us. Every time we find ourselves upset or out of sorts we have the opportunity to inquire deeper. Ask yourself what you must believe in order for the pattern you are playing out to continue occurring in your life. We cannot heal or change anything that we have not brought to consciousness. This is how we become more aware. This is how our enlightenment occurs. Every shadow of false belief about who we are that we release allows us to see and experience the world in which we live with less distortion, more joy, less strife and more flow. Our Authentic Self has never been wounded or damaged. As we align more fully with the Love that we are, the old habits of playing small and worrying about what others think dissolve and we bring more unbridled creativity to all that we do.

May the Truth of your heart light the way and guide you ever onward to the life you came, with stars in your eyes, to live, full out.

Love, Jodi

Venus Changes Directions ~It's All About L.O.V.E.

Venus has now moved back to the last degree of Pisces slowing her pace to a crawl. On April 17th she will resume forward movement from this 29th degree of Pisces, the last degree of not only Pisces, but of the entire zodiac. This is said to be the most spiritual point of the zodiac. Venus is taking a moment to offer us access to the subtler wisdom regarding some of her favorite subjects: love, money and the situations that surround and encompass them. As she moves back into Aries next week, we may discover we are ready for something new.

Venus rules our values, our self-esteem, that which we love, relationships and partnerships, and, of course, money. So many of us have undergone a grand review of at least a few of these areas over the past few weeks and months. Unprecedented events are shocking us out of our comfort zones and people are considering possibilities they would never have dreamed of, previously. The ongoing volatility of the stock market; the debacles with so many of lending institutions and banks; the troubling situations of so many of the major corporations; all of this and more have rolled down hill to affect virtually everyone. And yet, life goes on. Art is still being made, most of us have plenty to eat, the people we love are still with us, most of the best things in life have always been free–fresh air to breathe, the beauty of nature, and time to use as we will.

So, at this time of virtual pause, with our Goddess archetype of virtues and values poised on the wisdom point, consider taking a moment to connect to the place in your self that knows what matters and trust that when it is time for action, you will know what to do.

As Venus was about to go retrograde, in early March, I was introduced to a new personal development technology, ironically called, L.O.V.E. Technology (known to many who have been introduced to the technology through MTV, as Sacred G). Its creator, Cory Herter, utilizes sacred geometry  and has thrown open the doors to a whole new realm of possibility in terms of how people can experience a process that allows for the healing of their bodies and lives, from the inside out, and begin creating the Heaven on Earth that so many of us know in our hearts is possible. W.I.S.H. F.O.R. L.O.V.E. stands for Wealthy Individual Serving Humanity For One Reason LOVE (or Laws of Vibrational Energy). In just a few week’s time I have noticed a positive change in my sleep, in the quality of my dreams, my relationships are shifting for the better and so are my priorities.

It was not until I started writing this post that I made the connection between Venus going retrograde and my introduction to Sacred G. It has been a fascinating journey into my own values, sense of worth and desire to truly be of service to humanity. I am feeling richly blessed and inspired to spread the LOVE.

As Venus prepares to change direction I highly recommend checking out the W.I.S.H. F.O.R. L.O.V.E site. There are lots of free tools, free Sacred G L.O.V.E. Testers that you can download and print so you can experiment with charging your water with LOVE and sleeping with the L.O.V.E. Tester under your pillow to see if you notice a change in the way you sleep or dream. There is a long list of videos to watch if you’d like to learn more about the powerful and uplifting Laws of Vibrational Energy.

I’ve been saying it for years and it has never been more true… it really is all about Love.

Sun in Aries ~Vernal Equinox 2009

apophysis-061205-1

Spring has arrived, at long last. Winter is behind us and Growing Season 2009 has begun.

The Sun has now joined the still retrograde Venus in Aries, so though there is still a lot of energy in Pisces and Aquarius, you may be feeling a bit more enthusiasm for life. The fog will clear even more as Mercury enters Aries on March 25th.

Aries is about shifting gears, starting over, getting going on something brand new. The Aries New Moon is on March 26th and is said to be the best day of the year for setting intentions for that which you would like to create in the weeks and months to come.

For many years, I held Treasure Mapping workshops on the day of the Aries New Moon. I encourage getting a few friends together for an afternoon of Treasure Mapping on March 26. All you will need are poster boards, scissors, a selection of magazines and some glue sticks. We always did a short meditation and visualization before beginning, to set the energy and really get into the creative space that guides one to produce a truly inspiring Treasure Map for the year.

This year, especially, with the North Node, Mars, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune still in Aquarius, it is very helpful to pay attention to the inspired visions that feel intriguing. There is a wide-open realm of possibility and potential available to be tapped that simply was not there before. Dreams, visions and inspiration are the vehicles through which we move beyond the old ways and into the new. The world is ready for the inventors, those who are willing to ditch the old boxes and step into the fresh, clean unknown and create from there. How does the picture change when you color outside the lines? This Aries energy is inviting you to try it and see. Experiment. Aries asks us to entertain the possibilities, “What if we did this, instead?” Let your imagination run wild.

If you could birth something truly extraordinary in your life, what would it be? There may never be a better time for boldness. The world is looking for a better way to do so many things right now. What unique gifts do you bring to the party that might create a positive change? We are each born with at least a few extraordinary abilities or Sacred Gifts that benefit the world. There has never been a better time than now to start using them.

My friend, Monique MacDonald, teaches a course on Sacred Gifts. You can learn much more on her website Discover Your Sacred Gifts.

I wish you all a most delightful growing season. May the seeds you are planting today expand your life in a multitude of beautiful ways.

Drifting Through Pisces ~Dancing With Life

princeville-palms-in-the-morning

If you don’t know quite what to do with yourself at the moment, relax. Honestly. Things will become clear in time. The most effective approach one can take now is to dance with what life brings your way and see what it has to offer.

Mars is back in Pisces for the first time in about two years. Mars in Pisces is fueled by inspiration and imagination. This means that for the time being we are all experiencing our energy levels ebb and flow. Allowing works much better than insisting. And patience is definitely a virtue, at the moment. Mars, The Warrior, ruler of instinctive, direct, ‘take no prisoners’, Aries, is most out of its element in Pisces. Mars doesn’t know how to act in this foreign terrain that dowses his fire. He can feel like he is all washed up. His fighting spirit is lost in the vast nebulous pacifism of this oceanic territory.

My favorite guy has his natal Mars in Pisces. He has taught me most of what I know about the fine art of allowing, of letting things be, of accepting what is and moving on to the next thing that comes along. He rarely gets stuck resisting something he does not like. He is the master of waiting to see what will happen before making a move. Does he miss out on things by doing this? Maybe. On the other hand, by the time he is ready to take action on something, the energy is all lined up for him–he calls this looking for the opportunity to present itself. He has a real gift of vision and can see how the pieces could come together for an optimal result. In being able to bide his time until it makes sense to him to act, he has enjoyed a great deal of success.

With Mercury, Uranus and the Sun still in Pisces, too, the heavens are awash with watery (emotionally sensitive) energy. Imagination, illusion, inspiration and dreams rule the day. Go with the flow, have faith and remember, it is always a good idea to breathe it out and let it go, whatever it is. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, cauldron of glamor, illusion, trends, the arts, death, completion, releasing, relinquishing. Spiritual sign of the dreamer, the artist, the poet, the dancer…. open, receptive, flowing, encourages drifting along to see where life takes you, answers come in dreams and visions.

My first astrology teacher, Georgia Stathis, born with her Sun in Pisces, had this to say on the subject: “Pisces is the sign of two fish swimming in opposite directions. It may appear to you that you can see exactly where they are, but if you stick your hand in the water they are never where you thought they were. The water creates an illusion that makes it impossible to know exactly where those fish are. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, God of the Sea. If you are in the ocean and can relax, it will support you and carry you along. If you fight it, you will surely drown.”

I saw Rev. Michael Beckwith, recently, on Oprah. He said that true spirituality is never about gaining anything, it always about letting go of something. As we release more of who we are not we become a clearer expression of who we really are.

This is not the time to fight. This is the time to wait… and see. Or go to the beach and let yourself be… Or walk by the water and set yourself free… Or take a long nap and let yourself dream… Bask in the artwork of nature and breathe.

Virgo Full Moon of the Goddess ~March 10, 2009

october-morning-2007-014

Full moons are the time of the flowering of the seeds that have been planted so we can see their fruits in vibrant color. Virgo is the practical, grounded sign of the Goddess, the earth’s bounty, integration, tending to things–including the body–and simplicity.

The Virgo Full Moon Moon joins Saturn opposite the Sun and Uranus, the Awakener, in Pisces.Virgo’s ruler, Mercury has just entered Pisces, too, so intuition is more reliable than facts and figures, at the moment. How does it feel to you? What do you sense about what you are looking at? Does this direction feel more inviting than that one? Trust your gut and go with the flow.

With the bulk of the planets in the air and water signs of Aquarius and Pisces, respectively, this grounded Virgo energy offers substance to the mix that can help make our dreams and visions a reality. Virgo’s symbol is the Virgin–in essence, the Divine Feminine principle of creation, appreciation and love.

Virgo is the sign of integration, of sorting through the bits and pieces of our lives and releasing those that don’t fit, don’t work or no longer serve any useful purpose. Saturn in Virgo has been beating the drum of the necessity of letting go of that which is not right for us. As we let go we bring our lives current, into the present, where we can be effective in our actions and interactions, once again. Too much stuff, too many possibilities, too many responsibilities that we can’t possibly fulfill, attempting to go in too many directions at the same time all drain our precious natural resources of time and energy and the attention that gives our life direction.

The Full Moon joining Saturn in Virgo prompts us to get grounded in our own lives. In any moment we can choose to turn off the fear-mongering news, step away from watching the erratic stock market for a while and realize that we didn’t get where we are, overnight and it is going to take time before we see the effects of what is happening now. In the mean time, this is a wonderful opportunity to come back into your own center. Focus on the things you can do something about: tend to your body, organize and fabulize your home–even little improvements make a big difference, clear the clutter from your messy office, plant flowers or buy a colorful plant for your home.

What have you neglected that you know makes you feel better? What is one practical thing can you do right now that will change things for the better? Who or what have you taken for granted that will benefit from your thoughtful consideration and appreciation? Focusing on and tending to the things we love and appreciate creates an energetic expansion that bears fruit in a multitude of wonderful ways.

“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”  ~Rumi

Pluto, Pisces, Aquarius and More Aquarius

04160821Currently, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, the North Node, Chiron and Neptune are all in Aquarius. The Sun is approaching Uranus in Pisces. And Pluto is just getting started in Capricorn. If there were ever a time when extraordinary things were likely, this is it. Over half of the planets of the zodiac are in the signs ruled by the impersonal, anti-grounded signs ruled by the outer planets. True, Capricorn will bring us back to Earth, but Pluto is moving through early Capricorn like a cosmic roto-rooter unearthing all manner of unhealthy government and business practice and procedure. The good news is that Pluto is about transformation. Skeletons and secrets that were buried or kept in vaults or behind boardroom doors are being uncovered and will now be changed in ways that allow for evolution, rather than continuing to poison the ground water from which we all drink.

This ongoing, major line-up of energies in Aquarius, the sign of humanity, invention, technology, revolution, genius and the one who walks to the beat of his/her own drum is opening and offering all manner of fresh opportunity. It may take a while before they become apparent, but rest assured, in this energetic climate, opportunities abound. I like to think of that famously Aquarian drum as the heart. What better beat could there be for keeping pace and passing the time of our lives?

This time is ripe with fresh potentials that were never before possible. If you have been paddling upstream trying to get somewhere you were before, you might want to consider turning your canoe around. We are in the middle of the rapids and there is no going back to where we were even one short year ago.

The evolutionary wheel has turned and the revolution has begun. Things will continue to change. If we choose to make changes based on our vision of what is possible rather than by of our fear of the unknown we will see that we are far from powerless. We are, in fact, powerful beyond measure. What if you let the beauty of what you love be your point of focus?

Pisces New Moon~March 7, 2008

Pisces is the mutable water (emotional/feeling/sensitive) sign and the last sign of the zodiac and the natural year–the last month of winter. Pisces is in charge of imagination, compassion, spirituality, belief, the ocean, the unconscious, the collective, creativity, dreams, sleep, intuition, music, acting, theater, dance, the feet and shoes… Though why the feet are included is still beyond me when the symbol for Pisces is two fishes (neither of which have feet or shoes) swimming in opposite directions.

As the Sun and Moon come together at this new moon Uranus,The Awakener, and ruler of the sign of Aquarius, is right there with them, coloring the energy of the birthing of this new cycle. Don’t be surprised if things change course and unpredictability becomes the norm for a while. We could also find our access to our intuition is more available and bolts from the blue dawn on us with great flashes of insight into things we’ve not previously been able to get a hold of.

Aquarius is still full of planets as it has been since the first of the year. Chiron, The Wounded Healer; Mercury, The Winged Messenger; Neptune, The Great Dissolver: Venus, The Goddess of love and money, beauty and relationships, values and self esteem; and the North Node–Dharma or Destiny point are all continuing their dance sparking new awarenesses, clearing away old concepts and beliefs, and awakening us all to what is possible when considered through the lens and on the ground of Aquarius, sign of humanity, revolution, invention, technology, evolution and genius.

These are unprecedented times. All kinds of new potentials are being birthed in these first three months of 2008 as the majority of the energy in the zodiac is gathered together in these two Universal Signs and the planets passing through them connect to communicate and begin a whole new cycle of the co-creation of their joined energies.

Today as the Moon (the unconscious, feeling level of our being) meets the Sun (consciousness) in the sign of Spirituality, the ethereal, wild imagination and sheer limitlessness, there is an opening for each of us to tap this energy and dream, drum or dance something spectacular into being. Pisces knows no bounds and Aquarius is the visionary rule-breaker who never met a box that could contain its high vibin’ energy.

The energetic frequency continues to be high, wild and free. Entertain your most inviting imaginings, sparkle ’em up and unleash them to find their perfect form.

I’d love to hear how you are experiencing these aqua-violet energetic waves and what you are creating in this juicy new energy.

Love and oceanic bliss to you all,
Jodi

Mercury, Uranus and the North Node in Pisces

wind-through-the-weeds.jpg

The winds of change continue to blow as April arrives. As I write, the planet Mercury is closing in on the planet Uranus which has been traveling next to the North Node (universal destiny point of expansion) in Pisces for the past few weeks.

Uranus (The Awakener, genius, higher consciousness) with the North Node (Destiny calling. Will you receive this call?) in Pisces, the sign of spirituality, imagination, unlimited creativity, compassion and the subconscious has offered us a once in fifteen years or so opening to access creative potential that we can use in virtually any way we can imagine. With Mercury (the mind, mental processes and communication) coming into the picture now we are offered an opportunity to deliberately utilize this potential to move our own life forward in the direction of our desires.

Tomorrow is the full moon, the time of month when seeds planted or potentials engaged earlier in this or another cycle appear or manifest. Let your joyful heart lead you. The stars are aligned for magic and miracles to occur as you seize the day and decide what you’d most like to create. With the Sun in Aries for the next three weeks action is the word and the way to get the growing season for this year off to a great start.

Pisces Solar Eclipse

smaller-playa-del-carmen-beach.jpg

This Pisces New Moon (tonight. March 18th) is also a Solar Eclipse, taking place at the 29th degree of the last sign of the zodiac. Those born at the end of Pisces are among the most psychically open and energetically sensitive individuals around. They have access to information from the whole of the zodiac and many of them are creatively and spiritually gifted.

With this eclipse within the last degrees of the zodiac we may all feel more receptive to the feelings of others or sensitized to that which is happening without being able to say exactly what we are feeling or why we are feeling it. Pisces, ruled by Neptune, god of the sea, is the sign of the subconscious mind of the individual and of the mass subconscious mind that picks up information floating around in the ether and is what advertisers and fashion designers tap into when they launch the ‘next big thing’. Fashion, shoes, music, dance, culture, imagination, intuition, trends, spirituality, compassion, addiction, plastics, beliefs and faith are all under Pisces’ rule.

This Pisces Solar Eclipse brings rich energetic potential for birthing something new and transformative in your life as the planet Pluto, lord of the underworld, in charge of sex, death and rebirth, is heavily influencing the energies of this eclipse, so that which is created at this time, or born into this energy will carry the seeds of transformation that create a life-changing effect.

This is a great time to plug into your own deeper knowing through meditation or simply spending some peaceful, reflective time with or without music, dip into your vivid imagination, dream big and engage this powerful potential. With the Sun moving into the first degrees of the zodiac at the Vernal Equinox, the time of fresh starts, the intentions you define now help create the direction of your life in this year’s growing season. Enjoy!
