People Always Asked

Those of us who aren’t interested in traveling the well-trodden trails of the masses are often seen as a mystery to those who do. Anyone looking to upgrade and reform their life from the inside out knows that the way is seldom clear. In fact, in most cases, one is certain of nothing but the ground on which she is standing in any given moment. Such is the journey of one who knows there is more to life than what meets the eye. Those of us with fiery spirits and rebel hearts bristle at the thought of dying with our inner magic untapped, knowing we are capable of so much more. Our purpose is to rise to that which shines brightest within us and become masters of our lives.

Some of us are here to be living examples, expressing our true potential as humans. In so doing, others see what is possible for them, as well. We may not know the details of how it will happen or the exact destination, but we have heard the call and trust that we are well on our way to living the extraordinary life we came to claim.

Rainbow Goddess Moon and Entertaining What’s Possible

Rainbow Goddess Taurus Full Moon

Rainbow Goddess Taurus Full Moon (c) 2014 Jodi Lilly

I’m still thinking about last week’s full moon in the sign of Venus-ruled Taurus. When I uploaded my full moon pictures, I saw that this one had a rainbow around the top of the moon. After years of taking pictures of the moon, I have never before seen this! It was as if Venus, just a handful of degrees from the Sun in Scorpio, at the time, was projecting her creative flair to help the moon reflect even more brilliance in her fullness.

We have been through such an intense time of change, in the past few months, especially. So many people I know are undergoing major life-changes. Some of these people have chosen their changes, others definitely did not. Regardless of what prompted the change, having skillful means for navigating life’s transitions can make all the difference. I love the quote I’ve been hearing a lot lately, that says, “Life isn’t happening to you. It’s happening for you.” That simple change in perspective opens us to new possibilities. And while we may not have a choice about exactly what has happened, we have a choice about how we will act in response.

I have been through a lot of life-changing times; we all have. One of the things that helps me the most is the gift of hindsight. Being able to look back at situations that felt like ‘the end of the world’ at the time, turned out to be simply, ‘the end of the world as I knew it’. And each of those transitional times opened my heart and life in ways that allowed me to take actions that I would never have considered, back when I was comfortable and my life was predictable.

My Sun (ego/heart of the self) and Mercury (communication/intellect) are in the Mutable Air sign of Gemini. However, my Ascendant, Venus, Moon, Pluto, and Saturn are all in Fixed signs. So while my heart and mind are all for changing things, keeping them fresh, and entertaining all kinds of creative possibilities, (especially mentally!) my body, sensibilities, emotions and sense of responsibility are wired for predictability and stability, at all costs. So, while I can easily counsel others on the value of making wise choices about the crossroads before them, I know what it is to come up against a lot of internal resistance to taking action until the parts of myself that have concerns are addressed.

We all have obstacles and legitimate concerns about how to move forward when staying put is no longer an option. As we look back at other turning points, we see that we did make it through. Things did work out. Oftentimes, in ways we could never have foreseen and better than we could have imagined. One of the best tools I have discovered for navigating life’s ups and downs is to take a few moments when relaxed, to close my eyes and imagine the situation about which I am concerned and really feel the internal resistance I am experiencing around this topic. When the feelings are strong, I imagine myself melting all of that resistance and let my body release it, as well. Then I flip the situation and see it in a way that feels ideal, to me. Dwelling for a little while in that heightened state of awareness and allowing it to seep into my being, helps to open the creative floodgates for new possibilities to actually occur.

If the moon can have a rainbow, so can you. Keep looking up. You just never know what you might see.

Love,

Jodi

By The Light Of The Silvery Moon

Moon Through BranchesI’ve always been in love with the sky. When I felt lost or alone as a child I looked long and hard into the night sky as if the answers to my prayers were there waiting for me to notice them.

As a young adult everything in my outer world changed and yet I felt alone. They sky has been a safe haven for me for as long as I can remember. Even today, as savvy and sophisticated as I like to think I am, I retreat to the sky with that same hope and prayer in my heart. The sky reminds me of something I’ve yet to put my fingers on.

As a practicing astrologer you’d think I’d have figured it all out by now. Instead, I engage in the mystery and magic of the stars twinkling overhead that always call to my heart. There is something sacred in the silence of the sky. Something my spirit has always understood.

See for yourself, next time you find yourself sleepless in the middle of the night. As you behold the sky’s vast and sparkling darkness, feel into the Grace, wonder and wisdom it holds for you. Sky gazing helps us shift out of the details and into the miracle of being alive, here and now, on planet earth.

*This was the very first posting (with a couple of updates) to this blog  which was launched on August 27, 2006.

**In honor of this cycle of Mercury’s Retrograde phase, I will be reposting some of the original writings from this blog. This is in part to help me consciously remember, review and re-collect some of earlier steps of this journey and share some of that inspiration with all of you.

Sacred G and The Way of the Heart

I wrote the first passage in October 2008 on a call with a group of women writers with whom I have written, off and on, for many years.

My heart has taken command of my life, of late. After years of being ignored and pushed aside like a nagging, insistent child by a mother who is too busy to listen to one more word, my heart is having her say.

“Stop!” she said. “If you don’t, I will. I’m hurting and sad and angry. Can you feel me now?”

Yes, I feel you. I get the message. It is time to come clean. It is time to let go of all the trappings and mindless, heartless distractions and come home. It is time to sit quietly with you and give you the reins. We both know I’ve always wanted to follow you.

Fear has had his reign; his day in the sun. Now is the time for the heart to shine.

At the time I wrote that, my heart was literally aching and I didn’t know why. I felt my life contracting around me and nothing I did seemed to make any difference. The tide was out, a major cycle in my life was completing and I had no clue how to make it different than it was. Something in me knew though, that my desire to feel more vital and alive would somehow prevail and I would get to the other side. I was aware that a lot of the things I had been doing were not working for me anymore. I also knew that I was the only one who could change it. And since I didn’t know how to move forward I did the only thing I knew to do; I start letting go of the situations and things and ideas that I knew weren’t right for me anymore. I purged and cleaned and purged some more.

Fast forward to March 2009. Someone I know through an online group sent me a link to a site about Sacred Geometry called WISH FOR LOVE. (The WISH FOR LOVE–LOVE is an acronym for Laws Of Vibrational Energy–website has been replaced by the new CORY HERTER website.) I started watching videos of webinars and reading what I could find on the site that explained what it was about. I kept thinking, REALLY? Sacred Geometry can help change a person’s life? REALLY? I joined the WISH FOR LOVE online community and started meeting and reading about the experiences of others who had been using the Sacred G technology. I kept feeling drawn to learn more and experience the effects of using Sacred G for myself.

I started with a couple of cases of Sacred G posters and saw changes in my sleep and dreams immediately. Beyond that, I started to have insights about how to solve problems, my intuition was sharper and answers came more quickly. Before long, I had some undeniable experiences of my own. And my heart stopped aching. And I started to make remarkable discoveries about myself–what was true for me and who I am beyond all the stuff I have or haven’t done or been or had.

It has been almost eleven months since I was introduced to Sacred G and Cory Herter, the brilliant creator of Sacred G Technology. So much has happened in that time it feels like it’s been eleven lifetimes. In a good way. I’m happy to say that my heart does have her say today. I feel more vibrant and alive and truly myself than ever before. I have a phenomenal network of friends, creative projects and work I enjoy, my relationships with those I am closest to have improved and I am finally at home in my own body.

As I mentioned in a previous post, at the beginning of last year the message from my Inner Guidance was that 2009 would be The Year of Miracles. I can say without a doubt that it was indeed a miraculous year. And in 2010 it keeps getting better.

What is your heart telling you?

More on Magic

I have had a nagging feeling there was more to say about 2010 being a year of magic so I looked up the journal entry I wrote on the morning of New Year’s Day when I first posed the question:

So what about this fresh new year?

This is the year of Magic. The year in which old rules are broken and new possibilities are realized. A year in which I (you) learn to command energy and create transformation and inspiration follows fast on the heels of it.

This is a year in which dreams are realized, changes happen swiftly and beautifully and that which was once thought to be miraculous becomes commonplace.

This is an extraordinary year being born right now. A year in which empowerment is understood and wisdom prevails.

There is much that will take place in these first three months as the pieces move and a new design is created. The picture will change in a way that will awe and delight you.

I am already seeing evidence of magic manifesting in my life–the picture changes daily in ways that truly amaze me and boggle my mind. Life is good. Have you noticed?

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I’d love to hear your thoughts on magic or hear about how it is playing out in your life. Enjoy!

2010 ~The Year of Magic

I like to check in with myself as each year begins to get a sense of what the theme is for the year-to-come. Last year my intuition was very clear that it would be a year of miracles. And without question, miracles occurred. One after another. Some came wrapped in the cloaks of challenges. Others have been, well, miraculous. 2009 was quite a year.

So, on the eve of 2010 I sat down, again and asked what would be the theme of this new year. “2010 is the Year of Magic!”, said the familiar voice in my head. “This is the year that you will see your own hand in the fruits of the changes that occur. You will find new and better ways to do things. Ease will replace effort as the most efficient way of getting things done. You will be astonished by what you and many others will accomplish despite what may appear to be overwhelming odds. It is time for magic. It is time to move in the direction of playfulness and laughter and joy. Be open to the possibilities and see what is revealed. It is time to follow the shiny breadcrumbs and see where they lead.”

I have been hearing from my Inner Guidance about shiny breadcrumbs for many years now. Unlike the breadcrumbs in the Hansel and Gretel story, shiny breadcrumbs are not edible. In fact, they are not visible to anyone but the one to whom they belong. They mark the way to back to the heart of who we are; coded just for us, so that when we are ready we can find our way to those things which evoke the joy that is our essential nature. Magic is many things. We have been led to believe that magic is nothing but illusion, trickery and slight of hand. Real magic is what happens when we let go of the things that really don’t work anymore and start to embrace our lives whole-heartedly, choosing the path that calls to us rather than the one so many others are soldiering down. Magic happens all the time. It is up to us to open not only our eyes but our minds to see what we are capable of when we put our heart into something.

Here’s wishing you and yours a year of Magic and Miracles.

Intuition is a Spiritual Faculty

tierazon-jul_21__2006_13

“Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way.
Standing on the bare ground
my head bathed by the blithe air and uplifted into infinite space
all mean egotism vanishes.
I become a transparent eyeball. I am nothing;
I see all; the currents of the Universal Being circulate through me;
I am part or parcel of God.
The name of the nearest friend sounds then foreign and accidental;
to be brothers, to be acquaintances, master or servant,
is then a trifle and a disturbance.
I am the lover uncontained and immortal beauty.”

Divine Feminine Wisdom

spirit-song.png

Women never have young minds. They are born three thousand years old.
~Shelagh Delaney

Women are born with eternal wisdom. How many of us have really claimed our knowing, though?

We are told we are too emotional by those who have lost track of their own feelings. We are told we are weaker; since when did physical size equal real strength.
We are told we are sensitive as if that’s a bad thing.
We are told that being nurturers and giving life is worth less than those who plan and plot and do, in the world.

The Goddess is ready to re-emerge in each of us, in all her radiant glory.

I had a little chat with Her recently and She mentioned how hard it’s been for Her, in this world that worships the Masculine at the expense of the Feminine, to get through, to be noticed, to be heard.

As one of us listens, more will have access to the Divine Feminine Wisdom that is finally ready to emerge and reinstate a way of being in the world based in love and appreciation and comfort and joy.

Aries~Red, Bold, Passionate

A parade of personal planets moving through the zodiac tag-team style, meeting up in one sign after the next, to activate the slower movers, also known as the outer or impersonal planets, has gone on since November when Jupiter and Mars were in the last degrees of Scorpio and then moved into Sagittarius where Jupiter will be until late this year. So, since last fall we have had a series of planetary cycles dynamically activating the energy of each sign, from Scorpio through Pisces, and all that those social and universal signs represent in our lives.

When planets meet, their energies are activated. Just as when we meet someone we know and enjoy, our interactions will activate a sense of fun, relaxation, enjoyment, perhaps even love. Our energies blend to bring out the best in both of us. In other cases, as with an authority figure or a neighbor we don’t see eye to eye with but must tolerate or learn to work with, we may experience an activation upon meeting in which our energies feel constricted and uncomfortable. If we spend enough time around this person without addressing the need to make adjustments eventually our energies will collide, creating an implosion or explosion that breaks up old stuck ways of being and energetic patterns. When a collision occurs, the pressure is released, the air is cleared and we will discover new potentials are revealed.

These activations have occurred in Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, as most of the outer planets are slowly moving through those signs for the past few years. This means that many of the people and things that carry these energies have been undergoing an intense period of change and transformation and acting as the catalysts for those around them.

The personal planets, Venus and Mercury, that always travel within a sign or two of the Sun, parted company in February, when Mercury last went retrograde and Venus rushed on ahead and is entering Gemini, now. Mercury has moved into Aries but has yet to catch up with the Sun.

The activations, initiations and wake-up calls that came fast and furiously for so many of us last fall and winter, were a bit like popcorn kernels that, after doing time in some hot oil suddenly burst, rapid-fire, into fresh, fluffy, fun food, for those who were open to the possibilities. For those who hoped the kernels would survive their time in the oil and with the burner on High, intact, the experience may well have felt like disaster had struck. All those tidy little kernels of potential blew up, loudly and took up so much room they lifted the top off popper and made a mess!

As the planets separate into their individual cycles, again, the energetic potentials begin to open and expand. While the Sun is in Aries, especially, the time is ripe for taking action on the kernels of potential that have been activated in your life over the past few months. We are embarking on a whole new way of living. The possibilities are before you. Your task is to step boldly into the present moment and answer whatever it is that calls to you without looking behind you or worrying about what will happen next. Our passions aren’t about what anyone else wants. This is the journey of the individual. Once on your way, delight and discovery await you. When we do what we love we align ourselves with others who are truly kindred in spirit.

What’s your passion? True passion energizes us; our eyes light up and we just know we can do it, whatever it takes. When it comes to our passions there is no doubt or second thought. There is just you, in the moment, with the thing that makes you feel vibrant and alive.

Aries energy thrives on immediacy, urgency, living full out in each moment. At its best and brightest it is a lively mix of impulse, inspiration and enthusiasm that carries us through with our eye on the target and the thrill of living our passion fueling our fire.

Mercury, Uranus and the North Node in Pisces

wind-through-the-weeds.jpg

The winds of change continue to blow as April arrives. As I write, the planet Mercury is closing in on the planet Uranus which has been traveling next to the North Node (universal destiny point of expansion) in Pisces for the past few weeks.

Uranus (The Awakener, genius, higher consciousness) with the North Node (Destiny calling. Will you receive this call?) in Pisces, the sign of spirituality, imagination, unlimited creativity, compassion and the subconscious has offered us a once in fifteen years or so opening to access creative potential that we can use in virtually any way we can imagine. With Mercury (the mind, mental processes and communication) coming into the picture now we are offered an opportunity to deliberately utilize this potential to move our own life forward in the direction of our desires.

Tomorrow is the full moon, the time of month when seeds planted or potentials engaged earlier in this or another cycle appear or manifest. Let your joyful heart lead you. The stars are aligned for magic and miracles to occur as you seize the day and decide what you’d most like to create. With the Sun in Aries for the next three weeks action is the word and the way to get the growing season for this year off to a great start.
